Most courts allow you to use our home study traffic school
programs.
Some courts do restrict this privilege to certain violators (for
example, disabled or out-of-town violators). Even though Certified
Defensive Driving™ is approved as a home
study alternative in many courts, it is your responsibility to
insure that your court approves home study in your particular
case. If you learned about us from the court everything is OK.
If you learned about us from a friend or newspaper article or
a web browser you should do further checking. Also, you must complete
this course in time to allow us to verify your work and process
papers for delivery to the court. We use standard first class
mail and strongly recommend that you give us seven working days
for this task. If you are pressed for time we can work with you
but we will charge for special handling. Remember that it is up
to you to complete all requirements in time.
WHAT IS HOME STUDY TRAFFIC SCHOOL?
Home study traffic school is an option offered by various courts
to satisfy requirements in the California Vehicle Code to have
your traffic citation resolved without a conviction on your DMV

is permitted under the California Vehicle code, Section 42007(c)
as long as the program is authorized by the court in whose jurisdiction

AM I ELIGIBLE FOR A HOME STUDY PROGRAM?
Each court sets its own criteria for home study programs. Some
will allow anyone eligible for traffic school to take a home study
course. Others make it available only to out-of-state violators
or to severely disabled violators. Check the printed materials
you received from your court, or call the court, to be certain
of your eligibility. Register

HOW OFTEN CAN I GO TO TRAFFIC SCHOOL?
A court may refer you to a traffic violator school or a home study
program at any time. However, the California Vehicle Code (see
sections 42005 and/or 1808.7) mandates that only one citation
in an eighteen (18) month period be masked from public view on
your driving record. The eighteen (18) month period is calculated
from citation/violation date not class attendance date. However,
California Vehicle Code section 41501 does allow for a second
trip to traffic school if you receive another violation within
eighteen months of the first violation. Check with your court
